Ronin offers discounted warranty replacement shafts in case of breakage (regardless of use case.)

But wait, didn't you guys have an unconditional free replacement program at one point?  What changed?
  • We started offering the axle warranty because our shaft supplier offered us a warranty, but that shaft supplier couldn't deliver the quality we needed so they've gone by the wayside.
  • Folks have found ways to push these cars harder than ever before.  Turbo v8's are no longer unusual and quite a few folks are making 1000+ HP.
  • When we launched this, we had only one axle offering.  Now, if a car breaks a Ronin "standard" shaft we want folks to be moving into our larger "grande" versions (available for FC, FD, and RX8).  Yet, we've found that the axle that didn't break often makes it onto someone else's car despite having had a really hard life and compromised longevity.
  • The cars we're supporting are older.  Fatigue and corrosion can take their toll, so the things we're attaching to might not be as rigid as they once were.
  • More folks than ever are competing with our products, yet drag racing and drifting are extremely hard on parts, regardless of HP level.
All this being said, we still very much want to support owners of our products and make their project viable on an on-going basis.  Folks know that when we've found opportunities for improvement we always run with it.

What we can offer:
  1. Broken axles are eligible for replacement at a rate of 65% of retail (up to 2 axles standard, and 2 axles grande).  This helps us cover some of the cost since we're entirely eating the expense now.
  2. If breakage occurs on a standard 8.8 kit, users are encouraged to jump up to a Grande axle setup.  If you're upgrading we offer the full retail value of one shaft toward the purchase of the upgrade.
  3. All warranties will be asked to pay shipping costs.
  4. Warranty support remains transferrable.  If we know it's one of ours, we stand behind it.
  5. Axle usage remains unrestricted.
We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we do hope that supporting users via discounted parts, lessons the headache of breakage.

Sincerely,
Joel and Mike
